Student research project “The theory of white holes” with Günther Hasinger
As part of their student research project at Radebeul's Lößnitzgymnasium, pupils Larissa Jänicke and Leonard Bubeck have intensively studied the theory of white holes and have also spoken to Günther Hasinger.
In the eleventh grade, students are expected to write a technical paper and defend it. In order to not only understand the complex topic, but also to present it in an understandable way, they created an explanatory video as their own part of their work. The two students began with intensive research into the theoretical foundations of white holes. To deepen their findings, they interviewed Prof. Dr. Hasinger from the German Center for Astrophysics. They prepared specific questions to shed light on both scientific theories and their practical relevance.
Larissa and Leonard then wrote a script that summarized the key points of their research and defined the structure of the video. Graphics and animations were added to visually illustrate complex concepts. Reflecting on the entire process, the students realized the importance of teamwork, planning and creativity in making complex topics understandable.
By combining theoretical knowledge and practical application, Larissa and Leonard not only created a technical paper, but also an explanatory video on the subject.
