Joliot-Curie project days at the Görlitz Observatory

1

Equipped with cloud chamber kits from the Netzwerk Teilchenwelts in Dresden, it was time again for three days from March 12 - 14. Together with the Görlitzer Sternfreunde e.V. in the person of Lutz Pannier, and for the first time in a planetarium (here at the observatory in Biesnitz), Johanna Schurr and Tim Heinl built cloud chambers with three 9th grade classes and talked to the pupils about cosmic radiation from space, its origin and how it can be detected on Earth. Special thanks go to Birkenstock in Görlitz for their helpful and uncomplicated support in procuring the dry ice.
